Rain Speaks

some much to be done when rain is about

Rain Speaks. Poem.
Rain Speaks. Original poetry (c) 2023 VERDEY

Today as I rest in a lived sense of liberation I'm blessed with a outpouring of love from the sky. It's amazing all the gifts I used to overlook. To the neverending creator: I'm grateful to be here, and for how this works. 🙏🌦️💐🌞

Rain Speaks

The rain begs me listen
	sit still and be quiet
		nearby trees glisten
			and breathe in wet light
Drips, crackles, trickles, rushes
	Summer’s great thirst
		thunder clatter and crashes
			love pangs from the Earth
Sit still and listen
	Ten thousand drops say
		unfurrow your brow
			as cares fade away
Take in sweet romance
	the freest of pleasure
		smile as birds rain dance
			drink in nature’s leisure
Water, they say, emotion from heaven
	far flung souls’ consumption
		ground newly leavened
Now here with the dragonfly
	on sanctuary bough
		community discovered
			neath arbor’s high crown
So goodbye unto you
	in your present now
		so much to be done
			when rain is about
